My tone is harsh because I'm pissed off. Brendan Rodgers comes in with his Tiki Taka bull**** and ends up targeting Clint ****ing Dempsey. It's like we've learned nothing from Robbie Keane and Stuart Downing.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI think your tone is a bit harsh but generally I agree. He's totally mediocre and IMO he'd quickly become 'deadwood' to us and we'll be trying to ship him out in no time - just like Downing.
At least we're not paying £20m for him

You're making judgements before you've seen what BR is goin to bring to the club and it could all still be paper talkOriginally posted by JohnDoe View PostMy tone is harsh because I'm pissed off. How about judge when it all starts rather than the negative stuff already

Brendan Rodgers - “The third group are the critics and you never change them ever. Ever. If you win 4-0 it should have been five, if you win the league you should have won three. But I will never worry about that group, because you can never affect them."Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostMy tone is harsh because I'm pissed off. I think Clint is supposed to be replacement not for Andy but for Maxi.Originally posted by BigChief View PostAs much as I want Andy to stay, if we are looking for money then £15million + Clint would do. As long as Clint is on sub-60k a week.
I have serious doubts that Dempsey will be able to repeat the same or similar numbers or same style of play at much bigger club than Fulham.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

He's not the only one on here though. One of the loudest but he's not alone.Originally posted by acdmackay View PostBrendan Rodgers - “The third group are the critics and you never change them ever. if rodgers brings home the league then not a single liverpool fan will say we could have done better.Originally posted by SB View PostHe's not the only one on here though. One of the loudest but he's not alone.

He probably won't score as many as he did at Fulham. But he'll make the same impact as Carroll has done for us so far at a fraction of the cost/salary. Same goes for Maxi at a fraction of Maxi's salary.Originally posted by Mostar View PostI think Clint is supposed to be replacement not for Andy but for Maxi.

So with that squad position covered we have £15million spare to spend on other strikers/areas. Still a loss of £20 million but we've all come to expect that now whatever happens. One tit for another.

There's always someone prepared to moan no matter what happens. We could win the league & someone would say we should have won the FA cup as well. That's people for you.Originally posted by el matador View Postif rodgers brings home the league then not a single liverpool fan will say we could have done better.

EDIT:Premier League 2011-12:
Downing:0 Goals 0 Assist
Henderson: 2 Goals 1 Assist
Andy Carroll: 4 Goals 2 Assists
Kuyt: 2 Goals 1 Assist
Total: 8 Goals 4 Assists (That is nothing short of embarrassing)
-----------------------------------
Dempsey: 17 Goals 6 Assists
For 6 million quidish i would snap that up, and he is hardly a one season wonder season beforehand he got 12 Goals 3 Assists, sure we bought Carroll off the back of a good 6 months, Downing off the back of a decent season a Villa & were willing to get Sigursson off the back of 6 months.
Yes he plays for Fulham & yes he is 29 but IMO for the right price and most likely a much cheaper wage than all of the above, Dempsey would be a super squad player. I just think his fiery personality and steel is exactly the type of player we need to shake things up. Definitely an improved player at club level last few season & has scored 29 goals at international level too. Not many peoples favorite and definitely not a wow signing, but i think it would be a shrewd addition.Last edited by danperkins; 12-07-12, 01:43 PM.

I think our stats are also down to the lack of a game plan last season but regardless that is ****ing woeful

i think you're spot on there, we looked all over the place last season. Still can't believe our lack of production though it is horrendous reading.

TBF those are the kind of stats that were used to justify the signings of Downing, Adam and Henderson, going purely on stats Yakubu is the answer to our goal scoring problems. I've seen Dempsey play numerous times on Sky and I have never once thought he was anything more than an average journeyman who had found his level at Fulham.Originally posted by danperkins View PostEDIT:Premier League 2011-12:
