In most other eras he'd be regarded as the best in the world IMO, he is a phenomenal footballer.

Iniesta is better than Ronaldo in my opinion. Goals don't make the man.

So I guess the answer to this thread is Ronaldo.

But ****ing **** loads of them do. Dislike him or hate him, Ronaldo is a phenominal player in England and Spain.

Yeah I know. I just think Iniesta does so much more than him, and does it better than anyone. We're talking small denials here. But he is the 2nd best for me after Messi. I suppose it's because I love CMs. That's my position, so I always look for it.

Indeed. I know what Alex means though. I think Iniesta is a better pure footballer, if that makes any sense. Taking Ronaldo's immense athleticism out of the equation I think Iniesta has a greater gift for the game.

Oh and "dislike him or hate him"

I'm baffled as to how anyone could rate Ozil higher than Iniesta, or Xavi for that matter. He's brilliant, but still not in their class by a long shot.

                      It's not even close.

It's a really intriguing one - he's more of the Zidane type than the sort of players who more often get that kind of accolade (Big boned Ronaldo, Cry Baby Ronaldo, Messi, Marradona, Pele, etc.) but he really is a phenomenal player.

Xavi's still ahead of Iniesta for me. After those two, though, there's another big gulf.

Yeah hard to separate them, they almost come as a pair. Seems crazy putting any midfielder above Xavi but I just think Iniesta can do more. Uses the ball arguably as well/efficiently, equally intelligent, but Iniesta can go past people. He has the most incredible balance and considering he's not quick his dribbling skills are outrageous.

                                Very hard indeed to separate

I think Iniesta has a more eye-catching style of play. Xavi beating people would mean vacating his position and that would be anathema
