I agree in that englands attacking players are inferior to most top tier nations. Young wellbeck rooney and milner wouldnt scare a premier league side let alone a top international one.

If redknapp had got the job we would have been more offensive but we would have conceeded loads more. Redknapp got lucky in that he had modric and bale who are infinitely better.

England had a choice to make in that do they go all out and get tanked by every decent side they play.or do they adopt a more italian style and go for organisation and discipline over expansion and
        creativity.

They went with roy for now but roy wont be the long term manager imo. Theyre waiting for a someone else.

this will definitely help to develop english players technical ability and overall game. The other thing they need to do is either make youth football a summer sport or spend a load of money on astro / all weather pitches.

Its hard to develop kids technique on mud. We need footballers not atheletes.

It will take the likes of pardew hughton amd co two or three years top flight experience before they can be contenders for the job. In that time we have to put up with roy.

Before the next lot of english talent is supposedly ready there is another gap of two or three years. Sterling ox cleverley all need at least a couple of seasons premier league football beforw they can bw considered english internationals.

So for the next two or three years england wont be good so why pretend to be world beaters when theyre not. Imo the fa have given it to roy because its because they need him to steady the ship until someone else with new ideas and a younger talentes team is ready to take over.

However, I do think the Italians were there to for the taking. We allowed them to dictate the play and we made them look better then they are; when we allowed our wide players to get forward, we created problems behind their rather high full-backs - but we got a nose bleed and Roy wanted to retain his shape, so we invited a barage of attack and hedged our bets for the outcome of a penalty shoot-out.

I agree, the best team went through. But I'm of the opinion that a different set-up would have caused Italy problems and that we could have sneaked through to be royally bent over my the Germans.

I'd have liked to have seen us play this, of course it's tactially it's too far removed for the Bodgesaurus.

Ironically I think liverpool could provide the backbone for the new england under another manager. If rodgers is succeasful with his posession football with henderson kelly johnson carroll gerrard and downing then it will only help england. If liverpool players are comfortable on the ball in any arwa of the pitch it will only benefit england.

But roy doesnt play that way.

                      ............................rooney................ ............

No space in between the lines both fullbacks pushed up front four pressing constantly. Most indisciplined player up front and gerrard drops deep to make sure england arent outnumbered. Wide players can cut in allowing full backs to make the width and two central midfield players worj hard to get thw ball back and distribute quickly.

If you say so. I admire your optimism. I would swap him for Oxlade-Chambermaid in a blink of an eye, personally.
