Also all the players they are linked with won't address the real problem that they have in CM

No but it gives the (false) impression they are still a big player in the transfer market. Important for their share price, sponsorship deals etc.

On paper, one would think Allen would be perfect for them.

I wonder why they aren't interested
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I've always thought Modric would be absolutely ideal for their CM, yet they've never made a genuine move for him.

I agree and again they were linked to keep the PR machine turning, a bit like with Schneider that time.

No way they have upwards of 40m to spend on one player.

I wonder did they make a genuine move for Lucas Moura?
That rug really tied the room together.

I very much doubt it, and if they did it was without any real intention of signing him.

Tancredi Palmeri, an Italian journalist, said on twitter they bid £35m for Lucas Moura and it was turned down.

He's also saying tonight the Van Persie has informed Juve that he is in advanced talks with United.

That being the case they still have to agree a fee which hopefully won't happen.

Hope they get him, weakens Arsenal and I dont think he'll like being second fiddle in the man main stakes to Rooney.

Agreed re Rooney - it just ignores their main issue (midfield) and creates more problems (if they're really after him).

Thats a good point actually. No way he will be as successful at united as he was at Arsenal, and as it is united are way ahead of us. Arsenal are the team we should be targetting for a top 4 place.

BBC breakfast are reporting that Man Utd's deal for van Persie has stalled.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

In all fairness, a front pairing of Rooney and Van Persie is a frightening thought.
