24m for an injury prone 29 year old who has managed more thani 25 appearances in a single season only once in 8 years. Great way to distract from the directors creaming $150m from the club!

Lads this is a ****ing diamond signing for United. He is world class, he can score, create & is one of the best in the world at set pieces. There is no sugar coating this signing, lucky *******s!!!!!!

As for RVP, can't blame him for going to the Mancs, at his age surely he wants to win some medals. The only way IMO that can RVP will fail is if he gets injured otherwise he is going to bang in teh goals for them and also help Rooney get a shed load.

Gutted the mancs got him but we aren't in competition with them,City or Chelsea & i suppose it weakens Arsenal severely so can only be good for us as Arsenal,Spurs & maybe Newcastle will be pushing for that 4th spot.

As for people being non-plussed, truth of the matter is if we signed him this place would cream itself!

I wonder what scheme the Glazers devised to get the cash for this deal as it's gonna cost them about 50 million pounds in total...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

I always say it, it doesn't matter how much debt United are in or what **** is going on behind the scenes.. they will always, always find the money for a big marquee signing.

I quite surprised they've got him to be honest, very good footballer but he's massively injury prone and is he what they really need? I am not so sure.

Most Arsenal fans I've spoken to aren't actually that upset with him going.

Every single Arsenal fan i've spoken to are absolutely gutted & very annoyed. Arsenal & Liverpool just can't hold onto their prize players

If we signed RVP for £25m id be pretty ****ed off. Especially considering they will only get 2 years tops out of him.

Have they bought anyone else this summer? Is that their entire kitty spent on him? I have no idea on either.

I expect they'll get rid of Berbatov, so that will lighten the wage bill.
                    Oh I don't know.

Two years tops? Can't really say that though.

And you, like every other LFC supporter on the planet would be over moon if we signing RVP for any fee.

No I wouldn't be happy. Think he is worth £15m tops with 12 months on his contract. He is injury prone, and as witnessed in the Euros, isnt great in a side thats not built for him.

Two years is based on players hitting there peak at 26-29 years old. So yeah, I think it would be reasonable to expect a performance drop off in his 30's

Name me one player who is still in his peak past 31?

                          Ryan Giggs of course.

There are genuine "concerns" that he won't work with Rooney. Where will Kagawa play? It's not fantasy football - RVP's presence could easily negatively impact on Rooney's output. It's not straightforward. Obviously he's a quality player and it might work a treat for them, but it's no formality.

                              This article is pretty good.

Ryan Giggs is a medical freak

But, to be honest, if anyone can make this work it's Mr. Ferguson. I do wonder where this leaves Valencia and Nani though, I thought Rooney was building up a great rapport with Valencia last season. If they sign a top central midfielder they'd be set, someone like Sahin would fit them perfectly.
