    Guardiola heading to Moscow

The man who made Barcelona the best football team on the planet, Josep Guardiola, is close to becoming the new coach of the Russian national football squad.

Sport-Express daily claims the plane carrying Guardiola will land in Moscow on Friday.

According to one of the paper's sources, former RFU head Sergay Fursenko signed a contract with the Spanish coach before retiring last week, while there’s also information that the details of a future deal are only to be discussed in the Russian capital.

During his four-year stay at Barcelona, Guardiola has won three Spanish championships and lifted the Champions League twice.
The 41-year-old announced quits from the club this May after the Catalans missed out on both the La Liga and Champions League titles.
Russia are in search of a new coach after Dick Advocaat decided not to prolong his deal with the RFU, leaving the national team right after their failure in the Euro 2012 group stages.

Italy’s Fabio Capello, Zenit coach Luciano Spaletti as well as local specialists Valery Gazzaev and Aleksandr Borodyuk are also linked with the Russian job.

What the ****? This came out of nowhere. They must have either deep pockets at the Russian FA or really **** sources at the paper.
    *Except Michael, who died.

I thought I was in the '10 unsolved world mysteries' thread for a moment there.

The Daily Mail are the only other paper running with it.

        Don't shoot the messenger!

Well, it could be happening, who knows? He'd probably get something like 10mill$ a season, he'd have a relatively good squad and wouldn't have to bust his balls on a daily basis. He'd also be a lot further away from the cauldron of the Western press.

Personally, I think it'd be a bit of a waste. But hey, it's money, innit bruv!

Probably just paper talk anyways. He might just fly over, have a cuppa, see what they have to say and **** back off again after his missus sees how cold it gets in Russia.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I can see it happening. Part time job, tons of money, just until the world cup in 2014 and then he's back in full time management.
