Also Borini is better than any striker with have on the bench today, and next week and the week after
I'd say Kuyt was another non conformist yet he delivered pretty well over the years.

Borini will be handy to have about. He'll never be ahead of Sturridge and Suarez but in all honesty there are probably only a handful of players in the world who would be!
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I think Borini has done well on loan. If we get CL football we would need him. Will be plenty of games and I'd rather we spend our kitty on top first team players as opposed to filling the squad

If we sell Borini and Aspas we'd still have to spend on another striker, and most likely a back-up. It doesn't look likes any of the kids are ready yet. The only better option than keeping Borini would maybe be is an old top player comes in and are happy to to play less.

Borini will come in handy for next season and we're going to struggle to get someone at a higher level than him as they're going to spend quite a bit of time on the bench if Sturridge and Suarez are fit.

Poyet has not ruled out attempting to prise Borini from Anfield at the end of the season but accepts he may be fighting a losing battle.
The Sunderland boss said: ‘Fabio has become a hero, a legend, which is great. He has really got into the club and the fans. He lives football, he's a top professional, he's always on time, he's always trying to be better in training. He's that type of person, he's always looking after what he's eating or what he's not eating.
‘And when you score goals in special games, at special times like he did it gets you closer to people and gets you to play better. He's showing what a good player he is.
‘In the beginning it was my fault he was not playing. Now, if he's not the first one you pick, he'll be the next one. He's at that level.
‘I don’t know if it will be possible to sign him, it's out of our hands but I can tell you that we like him a lot and we will try. People will say the price is going up. I'm not going to lie, he's an important player, he's been great. I hope he finishes the season at the same level scoring important goals.
‘If he makes us safe in the next five games then I won't play him in the next five. Then maybe everyone will forget about him. "Fabio Borini, oh yeah rubbish," so then we can buy him.’

He'll probably always hold a place in our hearts because of our local team eh mate?

Not as a striker though. He was great as a defence minded right winger, but against weaker opposition he could sometimes be out of place. The fact was we did not really have a lot of wide options at the time. If we had Sterling back then, I don't thin Kuyt would have played as many games. Kuyt was not completely useless in front of goal, but you had to put it on a sixpence for him to score, as he had no real pace or guile to create space for himself.

His tireless work was backed up by his physique, which I don't think Borini has going for him.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.
