I would really like to see some responses to this. Valid points IMO, that's all.

What do people think the future holds for Borini at LFC ?

IMO he's going to find it extremely difficult to get game time with competition in attacking areas from Suarez(hopefully), Sturridge, Coutinho, Aspas, Alberto and possibly Henrikh, Downing may be here next season too plus Sterling and Suso may not be loaned.

Thoughts.....

I think he will find it very hard and as I said before, if we did strengthen with the likes of Mikhi and Suarez staying, well it is clear that he will find it tough to get in regularly ahead of that lot. So, it would seem that if a decent bid came in for him, we might entertain it.

Good squad option. Can see him getting some games through the middle as Sturridge is pretty injury prone. Would like to see him given a go in his natural position to see how he does, not shunted out wide in a front 3

The idea that a manager spends £10 million on a young player who he has worked with before, makes him his 1st signing as well then just bins him off after an injury plagued year is ****ing ridiculous.
Suarez will go, Sturridge will become our 'central' striker and Borini will be his back up who can also cover the wider roles.
The Suarez money will be spent on strengthening our defence and potentially Def midfield, we won't try to replace him with another front player.

That's why the attackers are being signed now, defenders generally have a ceiling for a sale price regardless of how much money the buying club has to spend, whereas the price for attackers can go through the roof

The kid is 21 years old.

At 21 Van Persie played his first season at Arsenal and struggled out wide in a 4-3-3 system before getting injured, sounds familiar hey?

Now I'm not suggesting he will be as good as Van Persie but it is still too early to write him off, he still has a lot of learning to do and it will come to him with time.

We could do much worse.

That isn’t reason enough to persist with him though. I’m not saying I want rid, nor have I ‘written him off’, but I have previously explained why I don’t see it working out for Borini here.

The best counter argument always seems to be he’s young, needs more time or that he was injured. That’s fair enough, but his injuries are a concern in themselves and IMO we have even younger players that have looked more comfortable than him and IMO have more potential (Coutinho, Sterling, Suso, Shelvey- yes SHELVEY ). We are also still strengthening this summer which could push him further down the pecking order.

I don’t think Borini is suited out wide, nor do I think he’s good enough as a lone forward. I could see him working well as a second striker, but unfortunately we don’t play with one.

If Suarez stays, I can’t see Borini getting many opportunities after his suspension and if Suarez goes then that money will need to be invested in someone of similar quality.

I fully expect Borini to have another season with us and hopefully it’s injury free, but I still stand by my earlier post when I predicted he might go next year.
