I am having an argument about the reasons he is so disliked by LFC fans. A poll would give an indication as to the general consensus.

Yeah he never really seemed to be one of us, if you like.
I think he always cared about England (and his horses) before anything else. He ran his contract down and ****ed off to Madrid for a pittance, bottled out of a return to us and then signed for the Mancs. That soppy ****ing brochure too.
It's like he never played for us now. He seems to be completely self-absorbed too, the little runt.

His move to Real, he was always saying talks were going well, new contract about to be signed etc then he ****ed off for pretty much nothing without even giving the new manager a chance. Cant really begrudge anyone trying their luck at Barca or Real but the way he went about it was ****.
Not too bothered about him now apart from when theres a chance to laugh at him, he should have gone abroad and made himself a hero at a lesser club like Raul has done but he's content to sit on his arse while his days are made up of boasting or mocking people on twitter or checking out his horses.
He left us in 2004, still only 32 and in the last 8 years he's started just 82 league games. What a bellend.

My dislike started when he moved to the barcodes, his move to Madrid I gave him the benefit of the doubt because I knew of Liverpool's ability to **** up contract talks.
Once he went to the Mancs I wasn't arsed, it was difficult to dislike him more than I already did. Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.

All of these reasons.
Even when he was at his best for us, he always seemed to make it plain that we were only a stepping stone on his way to bigger and better clubs and Euro/World honours. The best thing that happened was him leaving and us instantly going on to win the Champs league without him. The irony for him is that the best years of his career were for us, and that deep down he knows he didn't properly contribute in his Manc titles.
Oh, that and he is a dullard.Modifying post.

That's a well-written piece Buzzo, really compliments my earlier work on the topic.
