What I like about Allen is recent times is that which ever position he is playing in, he is affecting the game ... something he was guilty of not doing previous. Warrants a starting place after his good run of form.

Totally agree. He'll probably get a run of games now that Can's injured & he needs to impress to get a new deal. I like the lad.

Ill be a little bit gutted if Chook gets sold in the summer. He's battled his arse off to get back in the side and he along with Lovren are the two that have resurrected their careers for us IMO.

Me too, he gives us something different. He can still be knocked off the ball if he battles directly but with the team performing to a much higher level, he always has options and he's one of the best at choosing the right one.

He definitely needs a big CM next to him, the Southampton game were Wagamama destroyed our midfield showed that) But he makes our midfield passing tick over so well. Seems to calm Can too, who can be a bit erratic and releases Milner to push forward a bit more. Unless Klopp has a big name in mind that does that better then id keep him.

He always moves into space so he get a bit more time to make a decent pass and of recent times if we're playing with one up top, he gets into the box and isn't afraid to shoot.

I think what's been impressive about Allen is his ability to keep hold of the ball.

I watched him hold on to it the other night and rather than aim for a pointless back-pass or sideways pass he had the confidence and awareness to look around him and see what's about. He's also positive in his passing, he's accurate and passes quick, sharp passes to feet and most of these are forward passes which run in tandem with excellent movement from the forward players.

I agree he's light and bounces off people but he's also not afraid to get stuck in. He's clearly in a good place mentally as his performances show at the moment.

Will have his chance now as Can is most likely out for the season.

He's been brilliant over the last few months and has been very unlucky not to have been a regular starter. Fantastic turnaround.

He's nearing back to the form he showed first 10 games when he signed.

Said to my mates back then he'd be one of the best midfielders in the league. They've been taking the piss for 3 years now but looks like I might have the last laugh if he continues like this
