Instead, we pushed higher and left a lot of space between our midfield and our defence and as such, WBA punished us.

I agree Downing and Borni didn't have the best performance and alongside Gerrard and Kelly, they were our worst players on the park yesterday. I also agree that Suarez needs to go left and we are in desperate need of somebody to play on the right. Cole coming on was a mistake and we should have looked to Carroll and changed the shape slightly.

As Exiled_Red has pointed out, it highlighted Rodgers' naivety when we went down to ten men, but he'll learn from it. Hopefully we can put a few past Hearts and build the team back up again for a tough game against City.
No probs in ageeing to disagree about midfield mate

Yup i suppose it is a learning curve for Rogers, clearly he doesn't have the players he wants yet to implement his system, and with lack of funds and every first choice target turning us down it's making it even tougher. Now couple that with having to play City,Arsenal & United in the next few games.... short of a few miracle results IMO it is going to be a slow burner for Rogers.

We needed to win that game yesterday, everything that could go wrong.. went wrong! No points, no goals, man sent off, man injured and the manner in which we gave up. And of course Steve Clarke getting his revenge.. which in all fairness you have to say fair play if rumours of the way he was sacked are true.

Anyways i'm going to try watch LFC, not get my expectations up and give Rogers some leeway, as there are so many factors going against him. But we do need to see some sign of progression at some point.

I think those two positions are key to the way this system works and I worry about the quality of the players we have for those positions, obviously the jury is out on Borini as he has only just joined, but Downing would have to step up the level of his performances from last season significantly to even come close to being what we need, and beyond them we have Assaidi who is also unproven at this level and that is about it. IMO we really need one or both of Borini and Assaidi to step up to the plate in a big way, otherwise I think we'll struggle this season.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think this guy is going to be a star for us in 5 years. He seemed incredibly composed yesterday. None of that big team nerves that Downing seemed to suffer from.
        *Except Michael, who died.

100 - Joe Allen has now made 100 passes for Liverpool (in 112 minutes of play), completing 96 of them. Accurate.

If every lfc player had stats like that, we'd have the ball in our possession nearly all game.

He's an excellent player. Allows us to keep the ball further up the pitch.
                        Are we winning?

Haven't got the new shirt yet but I have a feeling that when I do I'll get Allen on the back. Lets see how it goes the next few games though.

How's Adams stats compared to this?

So calm and composed on the ball and positive going forward too, we looked so much better when he came on.

He's going to be a real star for us.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

@OptaJoe Adam has made 3 passes in 93 minutes of football, completing none of them. He's also fallen on his arse twice, had several wild shots from distance, and been yellow carded 47 times.*

                                * I may have made up at least one of these facts.
