Not aimed at you but I can't help but feel that due to us being desparate for players with pace we get excited and overstate players who have it in abundance.

You would hope someone like Tello has game intelligence having come from the Barca ranks but for me he doesn't look like a Barcelona player. I just see a player with raw pace (too much of a kick and push player with the odd stepover) but one who doesn't have much else in his locker hence by comparisions with Walcott. Don't give Walcott the space to run into and he is very limited because he relies heavily on his pace.

It counts for nothing but a lot of Barca fans on their forum don't rate Tello. If he could mix his game up by not only running on the outside but cutting inside too then he'd look a little better imo.

I think it depends on whether you want to base a team around him or have him as an option.

If we use your opinion of Walcott then a player with those limitations is capable of getting >10 goals and >10 assists in a season which seems to me to make them a very valuable contributor.

I'd like to know how many of his goals and assists came when he started games. I think players like Walcott are good coming off the bench when there is more space for him to get in behind the opposition. If the space is tight I generally see a player who struggles especially as he's not technically gifted and doesn't have a great touch.

Why does it matter? We don't have many options out wide and so are in desperate need of Tello really.

If you can identify a better player available on loan or on the cheap then I'm sure Rodgers would love to know.

No one herd is saying Tello is the next Ronaldo, more that he will be a very good addition to our squad - which tbh is piss poor when you look at the attacking part of the squad.

The Gkp is good, defence solid and with Allen and possibly Sahin coming in we have real quality in midfield again. But up top and on the wings? Threadbare.
