Haha - no comments about him after his long-awaited first appearance.

I liked the look of him to be honest. Much more threatening than 'Stewart'. Seems able to go past people on either side, looks direct and pacey. Looking forward to seeing more of him.

If you check out my t/l on twitter my journo mate tweeted me saying he interviewed El Hamedi and he says that Assaidi was the best player by miles in Holland last season.
Another tweet from a journo saying he was told exactly the same thing but that Assaidi could potentially be mentally fragile.

FWIW I think he is decent and for £3m we can't really go wrong, think he'll be used as an impact sub in the league up until Christmas and if he kicks and and develops then I think him and Sterling will be our wide players.

An interesting debut.

It's obviously early days as nobody here has seen him play before but he looks okay for a £3m punt.

I think he'll frustrate the **** out of us at times but I also think he'll chip in with a fair share of goals and assists.

I was impressed after his first game performance for Lfc.
We can sell Downing now that's for sure! Amazing that an Eng international can be so ineffective against a minnow side really.

Looking forward to seeing how Assaidi improves when he gets more regular game time hopefully.

Some of his runs on the ball were exciting. Some just plain rubbish. But it is his first game. I was just glad he could pass the ball well and took the opportunity to shoot. One a very good block by the defender and the other just on the wrong side.

In fact he reminds me a lot of Downing, without the crap. :duh:

I didn't watch the game or the clip above. But Assaidi has also been injured and has not much since the end of last season. He can only get better.
