FOOTBALL
Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has been given a five-match ban by the Spanish football federation after being sent off and insulting the referee in their King's Cup victory over Celta Vigo.
Spain defender Ramos, who was selected in FIFA's team of the year on Monday, picked up a second yellow card in the 73rd minute in Wednesday's 4-0 last-16 second leg victory at the Bernabeu.
The 26-year-old directed insults at the referee and his assistant when leaving the pitch, according to the referee's report.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
So whats that, 15 red cards in his career so far. If he he didnt play for Madrid and played for a team that was frequently under the kosh you could probably add another 10 to that.
Most overrated players in the modern game for my money
Unbelievable number of red cards for a player at his age, I agree if he was playing elsewhere he'd have likely picked up a few more along the way as well.
Hierro wasn't it before with 10 reds, he's got another 5 years at Madrid before he moves on as well. He'll be well into the 20 red cards for his career by the time he's 31 IMO.
