    Freddie Ljungberg retires

He was a good player for Arsenal, seemed to pop up and get goals against us on a regular basis

Thought he'd retired years ago and that this thread had been bumped.

    Good player.

Didn't he score on his debut for Arsenal against United?

      So did I!

Isn't this the second time he's retired too? Think he retired after leaving West Ham and then randomly signed for Celtic?

Forgot that he signed for Celtic too.

I remember him going to West Ham (for a season?) and getting paid loads of wedge for doing nothing as he was always injured. Thought they'd released him and he packed it in.

Had a bit of the David Platts about him.

Didn't think he did that much in games but always popped up with important goals.

Aye, his trademark was the diagonal run into the box from midfield which defences always seemed to have difficulty in picking up.
