I hope that's sarcasm because the Premier League isn't the best in the world and hasn't been for years.

Glen Jo thinks it's the best.
      Are we winning?

It *might* be the most exciting but that's only cos the defending is so abysmal. It's full of **** teams. Look how it's bunched from 4th to, er, near the bottom. We've had our worst start in about 100 years yet we're just 4 points off 4th!

I watched Sahin a lot at Dortmund and what we are seeing is what Dortmund got. I did try to warn people, he is very skillful but also very lightweight, similar to our old friend Vlad the Smicer !!

I agree except I would have La Liga above the Bundesliga.

How you think anyone can say that and be serious is beyond me!

I'll use sarcasm tags next time.

Because the majority of people do think the Premier League is the best league in the world!!

Says who? The guy's a good player and anyone with a couple of braincells to rub together can see why Rodgers was so insistent on getting him in. Christ on a bike, the guy has a few average games and people act like he's murdering orphans.

in overall terms of quality of play, competetivness of league, financial terms and crowd atmosphere the german league is best IMO.

in sheer quality terms its la liga.

in overall competetiveness its the prem.

People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Well Sahin would have won it 13,800 times if he had the chance.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

                            It's not though is it?

I take your point - and you've seen more of him than I have. But it's not what they got. He played a different role for a start, and was so brilliant that he was Bundesliga Player of the Year. He wouldn't be in the top 350 so far over here.

Didn't Sahin already say himself that his favoured role is the holding role? Almost as a deep-lying playmaker. Its just that we have a neccessity for 1 holding midfielder in Rodgers's system. If he could find a way to accomodate Lucas and Sahin in the holding role then we would be playing more like a 4-2-3-1. Similar to Rafa, when he used Alonso and Masch. I think he is the kind of player who needs a lot of space on the ball and so naturally playing deeper there will be less pressure on him. This would allow him much more time to use his creativity.

                                He did.

Thing is, there is scope to do that in Rodger's systems depending on who we're playing.

If we're using the 1-and-2 midfield then the "1" is going to be Lucas but if we were using the "2" then logically Lucas and Sahin seems a great combination in terms of style of play, ability and even the left/right footer pairing.

I like the guy, he's underperforming for sure but anyone doubting his potential and ability needs a slap in the chops with a brick. If we can (A) get him playing at his potential and (B) keep him after this season then it's a huge midfield asset to have.
