I like both players and it's good to have them in the squad.

I watched him extensively too while with Borussia but Bundesliga is quite different than PL and Borussia style of play is quite differently than us.

I liked Sahin and even though I had some concerns about his form (especially due to his recent injury and lack of playing time with Real) and his lack of pace and defensive skills I did think he would showcase more quality and sadly that didn't happen.

There is no point of comparing those as they are completely different players.

Major problem with Sahin at liverpool is that he is being played out of position... I dunno why BR plays him as an attacking when Gerrard is there... It would be wise to swap them... Sahin's natural position is deep lying midfielder... hope to see him play alongside lucas...

sahin thinks he is better suited to sitting deep. maybe he did that in germany, but he cannot get away with that in the premiership. he hasnt got the tackling aggression, or certainly isnt showing it since he has been here. i did see him put in some crunchers on the links when we were linked with him, but im not sure he will commit himself to strong tackling like that while he is on loan. he might be looking after himself so he is fit at the end of his loan spell, ready to move on...
          he wont be staying.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Yeah I think it was a bit of an excuse for him not performing well the whole playing out of position thing. Its not like he's playing on the wing or full back. Okay it's not his favorite position but the reason he's been so poor is his lack of pace, being caught out of position and being rather slow on the ball as well.

He's a class player who's really struggling to adapt over here and as a result he's gone on the defensive. He'll go on to be a really important player elsewhere, I just hope we see something like the best of him over the next few months.

When the tackles are flying in he hides and doesn't stand up to them. Happens to many foreign players initially, until they adjust to the pace of the game and show some steel.

Up to Sahin which way it goes for him. As he's on loan though, he may not fancy committing to the cause.

Alonso played that role very well for us without any need for 'tacking aggresion'. Both him and Lucas have shown that positional sense and closing space is far more important than the ablility to put in crunching tackles.

For me, its Sahins positioning that has left him exposed too often for us.

What's Sahin on about, he's been playing in a deep defensive position everytime he's played for us.

He's been playing him where he asked to be played.

He had a broken nose and was out until the Fulham game, which he was on the bench for and unused. Couldn't even make the bench last night.

Would not surprise me if he returned to Madrid in January (if possible). Wasted opportunity on both sides.

Might as well let him head back. Little point of him being here.
