    Miroslav Klose - Fair Play

Miroslav Klose No need for a Video Referee if all players behaved with such honesty.

Miroslav Klose scores 'handball goal' but tells referee to chalk it off
German striker Miroslav Klose showed standout sportsmanship by admitting he scored with his hand as his Lazio side lost at Napoli – the club where Diego Maradona used to play his football.

After just three minutes of last night’s Serie A clash, with the score still 0-0, Klose guided in the ball with his right hand.
Incensed, the home players surrounded the referee and his assistant to voice their outrage, with goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis coming dangerously close to losing the plot.
Klose, after half-heartedly celebrating for a few seconds, owned up to using a helping hand and the referee disallowed the effort.
The gesture brought back memories of Paolo di Canio – who played for both Lazio and Napoli during his career – who caught a cross rather than shooting into an empty net during his West Ham days because the opposition Everton goalkeeper had gone down injured.
Napoli players fell over themselves to ruffle Klose’s hair to recognise his moment of honesty last night, but it is unknown whether Lazio manager Vladimir Petkovic showed the same amount of gratitude as his side eventually slumped to a 3-0 defeat.

He admitted it after seeing the reaction. Would the outcome have been different if no one else had spotted it? Doubtful based on his celebration.
