Thing is even if he was forced to choose and left the mancs, it still wouldn't change any bias or influence he has.

Martin Lipton said he was voted into the FA job by all premier league clubs, including us.

What a ****ing farce this is. Even him as a board member was a conflict of interest. We should kick up a fuss about this.

Who was he up against though? Was there a choice? Maybe it was him or someone like Howard Wilkinson.

If we had David Dein or Peter Kenyon, then maybe he'd have competition, but I'm not surprised he's got the job (Gill).

Anyone know what his responsibilities are/will be?

Making sure United get a fair deal? Make Howard Webb a freedom of the FA?

Don't forget we're on the same side as Utd when it comes to FFP. So maybe longer term this is actually in our interests.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

he will be in charge of seating premiership referees at the top table, along side or next but one to DBF at dinners and events, all expenses paid, mebbe

                        Lipton was asked that.

I totally agree although it sickens me to do so.
united will do everything within their (and the FA's) powers to make sure it is enforced.

I mentioned this somewhere else - weren't there rumours of an English version of FFP being brought in to run in tandem? One that would be more stringent (including punishment hopefully) - and would automatically meet the UEFA FFP standards.

Maybe this has something to do with it.
