What a coincidence that after a year without being a ref of a Man United game (they lost 6-1 to City the last time), Clattenburg puts on the kind of performance that will certainly impress the FA enough to give him as many high profile, Man United games as Howard Webb.

He must have gotten the message.

I'd give him an elbow to the face and make sure i broke his cheekbone. Would be worth the 3 game ban.

I would like to know from the fa why he didn't ref a utd game for so long, was DBF consulted at any time in the past, or recently, about him refereeing another UTD game, if he was consulted, and i highly suspect he was, then that is corrupt.

For years, everyone who's said this was laughed at. It's come to a point where you have to be a fool to look at what's going on and think nothing's wrong.

Hopefully, it'll all come out when Ferguson dies. Can't wait.

Today, Mark Clattenburg refs a United game for the first time in 38 games after taking charge of the 6-1 City win at Old Trafford.
This is exactly in line with the analysis from that blog by the qualified referees.

                  Predicted it exactly.
                  Hello mert.

Iain Dowie is a miserable ugly ****stick too.

Suarez's celebrations ill advised. **** off, people loved in when it was Klinsman and Gollum can't whinge because of what Neville was up to.

It was a brave decision by Ferguson to rest Webb, but Clangerburg certainly filled in well.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson: "The decision the referee has to make is whether the striker has chosen to go down. He was through on goal - I don't know why he has gone down. I think it's his own fault.

"It's been 10 years since we have won down here. We had a good record until Jose [Mourinho] came along and spoiled the party.

"We've never got breaks down here and had some terrible decisions against us in the last few years. But today we have got a little break for the goal - Chicharito may have been offside."

Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that Jonny Evans probably did catch a bit of Fernando Torres as the Chelsea striker attempted to skip by him. But the Manchester United manager says that Torres only has himself to blame for his red card.

Just popped to the corner shop and there was a pissed up Manc in there talking to the Manc shopkeeper. Fella said "That Torres has been getting away with that every week for years....Chico was a marginal one, just good to see us getting the rub of the green for once"
