Yeah, that forum at the time of the Carling Cup was horrendous.

The majority of football teams have a section of idiots, ours included ... whoever comes up will replace the idiots that have gone down. Obviously some clubs have a larger contingent - or do it in the public eye - but it does go off, however unpleasant it is.

Scrapping amongst your own is something else, mind.

Why in God's name does the size of their fan base make an iota of difference. Wigan are a smaller club, and i would harbour a guess that all most all their fans come from the town itself. I'm not surprised they couldn't sell 30k tickets when they struggle to fill the DW. But that doesn't mean they don't deserve to be in the PL. You get there on merit, not on club history.

No scratch that (geddit!), I want more hooligans in the Premiership ... let's get Cardiff, Millwall and whoever else scraps in the Championship to replace those gentle Wigan folk, those QPR softies and posh Reading scholars.

See my criteria above for clarity

Ahh, so you've taken it like some sort of personal slur.

        Chin up sweetcheeks. x
None of what you have said gives any rational reason for not wanting Wigan in the premier league tho. A team gets to the top division on merit, and earns the right to be there. The only thing that really matters is what the team does on the pitch and the results they earn. That Wigan are in the premier league means that the results they have got have out shone the might of Leeds, Forest or any other team languishing outside the top tier but that can boast to be a big club.

I've given my reasons for not wanting Wigan in the Premiership, they don't have to be rational. I want Everton to get relegated and that's based on nothing other than an irrational dislike.

To go off on a tangent about Millwall and football hooliganism is a tad odd; I want full blooded football, with contact, passion and the roar of the crowd. I don't want teams that have little atmosphere, sit happily in the relegation zone until teams around them faulter and gift Man Utd six points no questions asked, each year.

It's not a personal attack on you or your family, it's my own personal opinion that may or may not be shared by some on here.

He's allowed to not like them isn't he? ****ing hell. I didn't mind them before but I'm starting to think they're a right shower

                    Another gem from Whelan:

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan expressed his bewilderment on BBC Radio Five, saying: 'I can't understand why the Millwall fans would fight each other.
'I understand if they want to fall out with the visiting team, but why would they fall out amongst themselves? It just gives football a very, very poor reputation.

A poor rep for football if the same fans fight each other but it's fair game if they want to cause trouble with opposing fans.
