The word 'shock' is used way too often in coverage of the FA Cup. The BBC are describing Brighton's win over Newcastle as a shock. It was entirely predictable. Newcastle have been dog**** this season and are in a pretty poor run of form. Brighton are doing reasonably well in their league.
I suppose but you still expect a Premier League side to beat a Champions League side, or at least draw. Not the biggest "shock" there ever was but still a bit surprising.

That's it though, I don't expect them to beat them by right. The lower leagued team often triumphs against teams in the lower half of the league above them.
If Mansfield win tomorrow, then that is what I would call a 'shock'.
