Kevin ****ing Lisbie playing for Orient FFS.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

65 mins gone & he's still on the bench.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Teixeira in contention for Liverpool’s first team squad says Rodgers

"Joao has been one of the outstanding performers for the reserves"

Luis Suarez and Joao Carlos Teixeira during a training session at Melwood

Brendan Rodgers has revealed how the form of youngster Joao Carlos Teixeira has put him in contention for Liverpool’s first team squad .

The Portugal Under-21s midfielder has been promoted from the Academy to train at Melwood in recent weeks.

Rodgers has been impressed by Teixeira, who has yet to make a senior appearance since his £800,000 move from Sporting Lisbon two years ago.

Teixeira was included in the travelling party for the recent FA Cup tie against Bournemouth.

The Reds boss believes the youngster, who had a brief loan spell at Brentford earlier in the season, is starting to fulfil his potential.

“I have contact with Alex Inglethorpe on a daily basis and Joao has been one of the outstanding performers for the reserves,” Rodgers told the ECHO.

“It's been difficult for him at times. When he has stepped up to the first team before it has been difficult for him.

“But I’ve seen a big difference in him. He is a talent.

“I always observe in training and see where players are at and Joao has looked very good. His intensity, the speed of his game – he has undoubted quality and he has showed up very well. We have brought in a number of young players to be around the squad.

“Brad Smith has been training here along with Jack Dunn, Joao and Stephen Sama. They have all looked very good and that’s the idea – to bring young players through.”

Very exciting to see him starting to come through. He's looked real class at youth and reserve level. Would slot seamlessly into our way of playing. You wonder if we could cut someone like Joe Allen adrift, get £10m for him, bring Teixeira in in his place and put that cash towards priority areas of the team.

I knew he'd make an impact, the guy has class.

Sterling, Suso, Teixeira, Flanagan, Coutinho, Ibe, Sama, McLaughlin, Sinclair (not sure if he's good?) and Wisdom.

We have so many extremely promising players!

I remember he looked decent about 18 months ago.

Might just be me, but when I've seen him for the U21s of late he's not been the standout player.

All for him getting a chance though.

I like Allen too. Just not sure he has quite enough to his game. If Teixeira's gonna make the breakthrough, something will have to give.

it would be great if robinson/flanagan/wisdom/coady/teixeira/ibe all come through and step up in the next season or two,

                            would save the club loads.

we need decent left back cover - Robinson (cissokho jibbed off)
we need a decent/strong DM option - Coady (just added to the squad)

                            then
                            replace
                            Alberto with Teixeria
                            Moses with Ibe
                            Toure phased out for Wisdom

then looking at it - a top class attacker/centre mid/full back and we'd be sorted

i still think allen has a place

the strange one for me is the signings of Alberto/Aspas - when we have the likes of suso/Teixeria/Borini/ibe already on the books.

Alberto/Aspas have played like 8/9 games each this season. considering how thread bare our squad is, they haven't contributed anything really - surely we could have saved the money and used some of those guys for that amount of games/

Aspas makes little sense. Alberto looks good to me but a strange one when you consider we have Suso and Phil already. That said I would love us to start collecting technical players....Coutinho, Suso, Alberto, Teixiera etc.
