The hit rate isn't good and yet Ayala is now a PL player, San Jose is in the Spanish squad, Tex was a Portuguese U21 and I'd not be shocked if he turns into a solid Porto player and senior international.

It ain't an exact science.

For a young player to break through into the first team not only requires talent it requires opportunity. Without either it wont happen. At the big clubs opportunities rarely present themselves.

Sterling broke through because of our first year transition under Brendan, the pressure was off, Raheem got plenty of game time to make mistakes.

Personally the biggest shame will be if we don't manage to give enough minutes to Brannagan, he (for me) looks like the one that'll become a really, really good player.
