Everton star Marouane Fellaini claims women have driven him from Merseyside to Manchester.

Maybe it’s the glitz and glamour that attracts women to Marouane Fellaini or maybe it’s the giant afro, either way he has left Merseyside and moved to Manchester, could this personal move possibly be followed by a professional one?

Fellaini’s performances this season have attracted the interest of some big clubs around England and Europe, including the two Manchester sides battling away at the top of the league.

“I am living in Manchester now, because in Liverpool, the women were crawling for me. It was too much. In Manchester, people don’t recognise me that much and tend to treat me in a more respectful way,” Fellaini said in the Daily Mail.

It’s difficult to see how such a transition would stop the Belgian from receiving the same level of attention because his barnet is the sole reason he is instantly recognisable as the player and star he is.

Once word gets round local communities that the ‘babe magnet’ has arrived inside Manchester borders then the attention he gets will increase and all he would have achieved is inconveniencing himself when it comes to travelling for training each day.

This news and these comments could anger some Everton fans and supporter communities because it’s very easy to read a possible Manchester related football move into this.

However, any fans that think that need to put the issue into context. This is not the first time a professional player has lived somewhere and played in a complete different place; Robert Pires lived in London and drove to the Midlands every day during his recent stint with Aston Villa.

“I have a contract with Everton until 2016, and, if the club want, I will see that out. I know I am hot, and I want to move forward one day, but I will finish my Everton contract if they want me to,” added Fellaini.

Everton are currently five points away from fourth place and the club desperately need him to stay to prolong their Champions League ambition. However, if Manchester United or Manchester City want to sign him in the near future then he has already done some of the work for them.

Fellaini is in line for a return to the Everton side to play Newcastle United away from home.

                        £12m. Madness.

Although he's gone off the boil in recent seasons hasn't he? I don't watch a lot of Italian footy these days but I remember him looking mustard when he first moved to Milan.

There's talk of Robinho moving for around 7.5m euros too.

If thats true I'd be all over that like a tramp on chips.
