Good point aye. Does that mean that any manager talking about signing a player from any other team in the league would get in trouble though? Seems a bit ridiculous eh.

Harry Redknapp on Darren Bent the other day:

"I like Darren. I've got no problems with Darren Bent," Redknapp said. "I just made a comment that maybe I shouldn't, when I said I think my missus would have scored when he missed a header that day. I can laugh at myself, I don't mind.

"It was obviously difficult, he didn't like it and that was sort of it really, and within no time he decided that he didn't want to stay. But I think he's a good player. I'd like to have Darren Bent available, believe you me. He can score goals. I've got no problem with Darren as a boy or as a player. I think he's a good player."

Yeah it seems the difference is, if the clubs want to sell, then its open season. If its a 'prized asset' kick up a stink with the FA and the accused club will end up paying some nominal fine in the future.

He was actually in the bookies, drunk chatting up an old wino when he made the comments.

Ince, Zaha................whats the fockin difference...... we need top players at this stage, not potential........ these 2 would be good signings if they were to learn in the next 3 years and play only intermittently........if it was Chelsea, United and City, thats what they would be looking to get out of the likes of Ince and Zaha......

If it was 6 and 10 million for either, then i'd rather keep the cash to be honest.....save up for someone good.....like Isco or Muniain!!!

Ibarra or Ebecilio or if you want more quality for money Martens or Narsingh.

He went on a free transfer because he didn't want to re-sign (although if he was nearer the first team he probably might have) and now he might be returning for £6m.

It's hardly like Barca buying Jordi Alba, Pique and Fabregas back for absolute millions, is it?

Pique went back for about 6 million I think....Alba about 11 IIRC

Thomas Ince scored 2 goals again today - 1 was a pen. I'm sure if we signed him, he wouldn't want 50k a week

You suggesting he'll want more then?

The problem with Sterling is not money-related, it's location-related. He misses London & wants to go back. We have apparently convinced him to stay & he will sign a new deal this month sometime...
