Thanjk you.

With the forward options we have now, I'd rather get a solid midfielder or a central defender, even a younger one. With Skrtel seemingly dropping down the pecking order, I think a defender is a greater need. Makes little sense waiting until the summer to address defence, when we still have a chance of Top 4 now (albeit an outside one)

To me it all boils down to BR inability to set us up defensively not to lack of good CBs.
Just last year Skrtel and Agger partnership was probably the best not only in PL.
I mentioned Mertens as he's still young with tons of experience and would open things up for Sturridge and Suarez.
In terms of a mid yes we certainly need one and Strootman is the one for me.

Yeah. I don't like how we are dropping off as a method of defending, allowing opposition to run at us centrally and full backs. Just don't understand that strategy. Someone on RAWK tried to explain it with a detailed article yesterday and I looked out for it yesterday.
We just seem to drop back, try to keep shape but end up with full-backs going awol, midfield not moving and us being attacked at all angles
Although Allen is everyone's current whipping boy - when on form he did do a good job of closing down, intercepting and breaking opposition play down in midfield. Something we didn't do yesterday.

To me one of biggest issue is lack of good physical DM.
Opposition goes through the midfield like there is nobody there.
Absence of Lucas affected us hard but even after he is back he is still not(maybe never) the player he once was.
Yesterday we lost 3 points as we couldn't close down on Walcott in the crucial moment even though we had 2 players right in front of him.
Agreed. I always said we needed to bring cover in for him. His position is so vital to this attacking way we want to play. Way too much demanded of him coming back from a bad injury

Aye.
For that exact reason I think we need more than just the cover.
