What Saturday proved was that Wales now have a good squad of players with probably two good players for each position.

The likes of Mark Jones, Sweeney, Hook, Morgan and even Parker all made appeals to be included for the big one in a week and a half. Our back line now looks full of pace and strength and it's looking good going into the 6 Nations and World Cup next year.

With options like Peel and Phillips, S Jones, Sweeney and Hook, Henson, Parker, Shanklin, Thomas, M Jones, Williams and Morgan, and you can probably include Luscombe as well, we'll have plenty of different qualities on offer come next year. The forwards are also now very strong with options galore in each position, so Jenkins and Nigel Davies have one hell of a task on their hands to find the right balance to get the very best out of the players when the serious stuff comes along!

Welsh rugby is looking on the up and with a World Cup ahead it gives them all something to aim for and achieve!
