He didn't have to generate any power, he didn't have to change the direction ... he just had to let the ball hit him on the head to take it back across a flat-footed Howard.Originally posted by ric.williams View Postum he put it right in the bottom corner where the keeper couldnt get it. great header
Maybe I'm being harsh, but I'll watch the replay.

Yup, I'm being harsh - it was decent enough.Originally posted by Muddled View PostHe didn't have to generate any power, he didn't have to change the direction ... he just had to let the ball hit him on the head to take it back across a flat-footed Howard.

Still no Garcia, mind.

Come on, man, you're not comparing like with like. If Sturridge had a £7m get out clause we wouldn't be paying £12m.
If Ba goes to Chelsea for that much it's because he can, not because that's his comparable value..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Its not the comparing like for like, its comparing one side spending £5m less on an arguably better player, like us spending £35m on Carrol and Man Utd getting RVP for £22m. Why aren't we after Ba for £7m too? Time and time again we're making mistake after mistake in the transfer market, this club is its own worst enemy.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostCome on, man, you're not comparing like with like. What makes you think we weren't after him? Perhaps he wasn't interested in us. I think it's totally believable he'd choose Chelsea over us. I suppose you think the club should come out and say who we've failed to sign because that would really go down well.Originally posted by tanner View PostIts not the comparing like for like, its comparing one side spending £5m less on an arguably better player, like us spending £35m on Carrol and Man Utd getting RVP for £22m. Of course then we wouldn't know whether the club are just saying that to make it look they're trying even though it would be pretty demeaning.
In short, you can't assume we wouldn't have been interested just because we haven't signed him..

How do you know we weren`t? Maybe we got told he wasn`t interested in signing for us, espesially when a team like Chelsea showed interest. When Ba told is agent he wants to leave everybody Bas interested in joining will be told.Originally posted by tanner View PostIts not the comparing like for like, its comparing one side spending £5m less on an arguably better player, like us spending £35m on Carrol and Man Utd getting RVP for £22m.
