Bale reminds me of Barnes. I suppose it's partly being a left winger. I'm not directly comparing them, Barnes was much silkier and better I think.
But it's the threat they carry. When Bale gets the ball I get the same sense as when Barnes did in his prime - something is probably about to happen.
I still think Suárez is more dangerous though, and Bale isn't as good as him or Aguero or Silva. So perhaps it's because the threat comes from that same position that I feel an echo of Barnes.
