Seems a waste to me but nevermind.
He's doing a Van der Vaart. Using a small club as a stepping stone to a bigger one so he can get his form back and his head right. Probably not a bad move for him actually.

Sometimes a transfer doesn't make much sense. Oh well.

There are much better players out there that we have nearly signed, move on.

We were never getting him so I don't see how people are disappointed - may as well be pissed off that we narrowly missed out on Iniesta.

If we were in for him, I'm glad we didn't over extend ourselves. Although he could have been great, the money is probably best spend elsewhere

If this is really all the deal cost I can't believe we were seriously interested in him:

It’s a 5 million Euro, three and a half year contract, with 7.5m going to the Nerazzurri. Following an afternoon meeting with Moratti the Dutch midfielder put aside his reservations and met with the Turkish delegation.

Wesley Sneijder has said ‘yes’ to Galatasaray. The Holland international signed in the evening and announced on the Turkish club’s website: the contract is for three and a half years at 5m Euro a year. Inter will pocket a fee of 7.5 million for the midfielder.

MEETING — The confirmation came at the end of a meeting in a central Milan hotel. It started at 8.30pm and in attendance were Sneijder with his agent and the Turkish delegation led by CEO Lufti Arigogan. At 9.40pm the announcement was made that he’d said yes.

Signs — That evening meeting was preceded by an afternoon face-to-face between Sneijder and Moratti where both parties managed to put an end to his long, tortuous parting from Inter, which had become something of an ordeal. Neither of them though, confirmed anything. “Wesley Sneijder is closest to Galatasaray? I think so,” said Moratti afterwards. “There is still a small chance as usual, but I think that choices have to be made. I wanted to have a chat with him as I thought that was the right thing to do. Reconciliation? We were never at war, it was a chat for us to take stock of the situation, look at his various desires, and see if he was leaning in a certain direction, and it seems so.”

Wesley speaks — “We talked a lot,” said Sneijder in an interview with SkySport 24HD, "We’ve always had a good relationship. We had a good chat and a coffee and that was all.” According to Moratti, “It’s too late, but there’s always a small possibility that Sneijder could stay.”

For his part, the Dutchman said, “That’s right in the sense that there are two options. I’ve won everything here, with the fans and with the club. I’m very happy here. I might soon be saying that I have been, and still am very happy here, but I still don’t know.

We’ll go on from here and see what happens.” Of the Inter fans he said, “The fans are as great as they’ve always been. I know the fans love me and I love them a lot. But Turkey is still a concrete possibility,” which is what the Turks have been saying all along.

He's a good player and would get us goals. Can see why alot of people wouldn't want him though. He could be another Gary Mac IMO.
