Good in the air, intelligent, not very fast, scores the odd goal from corners. I've watched him several times in the last three years in the Norwegian league.

4m a decent price?
Think he is good enough to cover Agger and Skrtel?
Sometimes these work. Sometimes we unearth a Sami style gem. **** knows this time. I like to think that Rodgers is buying players now who will fit his style and advance the team. Don't think we need a new CB though.
This evening the news that Vegard Forren is on his way to Liverpool broke. The very reliable Norwegian TV-outlet TV2 says that Forren will have his medical at Melwood tomorrow. Two English clubs (not named) has shown concrete interest in the player.
Forren is Norwegian defender, who plays for the best team in Norway, Molde. Forren is what you call a 'late bloomer' and was discovered by Molde when they played the Norwegian the Norwegian 3rd division team Kil Hemne with Forren in the team, Kil Hemne beat Molde 3-1 and Forren was invited to Molde for a trial. Before joining Molde, he was employed at a grocery store.
The Norwegian defender is (max) 187cm tall and is not a physically beast like Skrtel or Agger. But Forren is a very clever defender who reads the game very well. He's extremely dominating in the air and is a very big threat in set-pieces, scoring goals. In terms of aerials, he is like Vidic.
Forren made his debut this year for the Norwegian national team. And he has been one of our best players since then. His game vs Switzerland in the World Cup qualifier was an outstanding game from the defender.
If Forren joins Liverpool, he most certainly will be a backup for our Danish centre back. Forren is very similar to Agger in his playing-style. He is left-footed, very good with the ball in his feet, always finding a team-mate. He is a bit slower than Agger, and pace is definetely his weakness.
If you compare him to Coates, I would say that Forren is better than our Uruguyan defender. He is very mature in his playing and a typically Rodgers-type of player, no doubt.
In my opinion, he is not better than Skrtel or Agger, as I said earlier, he will most certainly be a backup for Agger. Forren has a big potential, and I can definetely see him as a top Premier League defender with some experience.
£4m? Steal, an absolute steal. Solskjær has earlier described him as potential Premier League player, and it looks like he was correct. It's been rumoured that if Solskjær once was going to the Premier League, Forren was one of the players he wanted to take with him. Forren can definetely be a success in the Premier League, no doubt.
