How would it? Anyone likely to get that messy at match does so anyway, they just get tanked up before they go.

They don't have anyone knocking over their pint or have a pint in their hand to throw during the game though.

That is because they don't have half a bottle of vodka to go with it!

Same here in Australia, and our drinking culture isn't great. You can drink in your seats here and there's rarely problems.

My season ticket here is on the terrace standing, beer is brought to us by roaming beer monsters, we never have problems en masse, just the odd numpty who is quickly dealt with.

All busses in the city are free 90 minutes before a match and 90 minutes after the match so people who live here don't need to drive if they want a beer.

It is true, the guys are huge, they have to be carrying a huge jet-pack of beer on their back with a hose attached to pour straight into your glass. They even have an flag pole with a blue pennant on the top so you can see where they are in the crowd, and you can make sure your glass is empty when he reaches you ready for a refill. He has the right of way too, people have to move for him to get past, no stopping the beer monster!.

Under the terraces are the toilets, outside each one is a little beer stand manned by a dollie, you drop off your pint pot on the way past with your 3 euros and collect it on your way back from your slash. You know which is yours because most have their names on them. Nobody will nick it or the money and she won't take the money until you collect the beer. Works a treat. All very civilised. (Apparently they do soft drinks as well)

Well, for a start, it's a lot harder to cause **** with tens of thousands of seats in your way instead of a big old slab of paved concrete.

English people aren't controlled enough to resist the temptation.

Not quite sure I get your point....we're talking about allowing drinking not removing seats?

Removing seats I'm completely against. But its not really relevant to the conversation.

cant wait, only worry is I read that you need some kind of prepaid card within the ground to spend money, probably straight forward but given the language barrier may prove difficult

Don't be such a bleedin snob, use Euros like the rest of us. 99% of the staff within the stadium are turks and speak better English than they do German.
Language is never a problem when you are spending money

Try the Pea soup, it is outstanding.
