                              I've quite liked Stoke over the years but they look stale now. I think their brand of direct football has become less effective in the PL too (see the struggles of Sunderland under O'Neill for other evidence).

                              Like Moyes at Everton, Pulis seems to do better when he has less money to spend.

                                For me stokes biggest problem now is that they are trying to play through the middle more which is not working for them. When they had Ethrington and Pennant out wide and two tall centre forwards it worked well, they got a lot of joy from crosses

                                They need to go back to Kenwyne Jones and Peter Crouch upfront and get balls played into them from wide areas
