Doesn't necessarily mean that the game being played in England was fixed by the English team.

How do you reckon they've narrowed it down to this selection then, followed betting patterns and found games where large amounts of money are placed on a certain outcome by similar people?
The times they are a changin'.

They should look at all the scum games where their opponents are up by a couple of goals and end up throwing the match

We were out before the end of 2009 and that was the last time. Just about within the timescale I suppose but more chance of it being one of United, Arsenal, Chelsea, City or Spurs.

Richard Keys has just said... "I'm not suggesting... but Liverpool's game at... just saying".

Didnt catch what team he said though. What a cunt. Anyone else hear it?

... and I tell you honestly, I will love it if it turns out to be Man Utd, love it!

However, it will be more than likely some sixth game of the group stages where there is nothing at stake and the teams involved will be Man Utd - who have already qualified - and a no-mark team who have already finished fourth.

Personally, I truly hope it's a game of magnitude between household names that gets this out in the open where UEFA, FIFA or whoever can't shy away from *another* issue in the beautiful game.

Don't forget that our referees handle European games on foreign shores.

Game in England or game in UK is a huge difference. I suspect its probably a Welsh or Northern Irish team v a team from Romania or similar

All it takes is one or two players from a team to be paid to give away pens or get sent off or score an own goal. It happens. Doesn't mean the English have to know about it and usually players in the PL are paid so well that they wouldn't need to do it.

But players from other countries who are paid poorly can easily be enticed into doing it and it happens for sure

Really trying to find it on the bbc website but struggling. They did a feature about match fixing a couple of years ago and the people who monitor things like betting patterns were telling the author what the scire would be. And they were right. 0 0 at the time, predicted 2-1 and it happened
