Thanjk you.

Yes, you're right, I was. And I've outlined why I think that's a reasonable hypothesis.
I'd hardly be arguing that my recollection of consistency is a priori better than yours. I realise others might but we both know that's not arguable and I wouldn't do it, just like you wouldn't, even if what I said could be read that way by the less than charitable.
Selective memory cuts both ways Neil. On that basis it was read just as it was - nothing more than patronising guff. Anyway if you're going to start with the thinly veiled insults, I'm out.
Come on RP, it wasn't a thinly veiled insult. The only insult here that I can see is that you think I'm asserting my memory is better than yours. I realise it cuts both ways, do you want me to find some examples where I've said that explicitly?
My point was that consistency is one of the hardest criteria to use because we recall highlights rather than detail. You may well not agree but I'd be interested to know why.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
If it cuts both ways, it doesn't serve your argument any more than mine. Unless you believe you're immune to selective memory relative to me. Which is exactly why it reads as patronising. That's not the view of someone who is uncharitable, just logical.
Anyway I'm really not interested in going into pages of you chasing your tail, one minute saying yes it furthers your case for Zidane, the next saying you were only making a point about it being a difficult thing to assess. It's too uninteresting and remote from the original discussion, so have it as whichever of those two you will.
Thanks for making the effort to understand the point I was trying to make. Not.

Have I just travelled back in time to the early 1990s?

He's certainly on the same level IMO. His impact is just diluted because of Messi, and to a lesser extent Xavi and the rest. Zidane was wonderful, magical, but his genius was more apparent because he played in less brilliant sides.
Iniesta is a faultless footballer. As an attacking midfielder he is perfection.
WTF man
Im not sure if your playing up to my Madrid love here...but look at the players he was with at Madrid. Ronaldo, Figo, Beckham, Raul, Morientes and he outshone them all.
That Juve side wasn't to shabby either

"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey
I will never consider Zidane as one of the all time greats because IMO he used illegal drugs at Juventus.
Great player but also a cheater IMO of course.
What do you base this opinion on? Hearsay?
You can easily get sued for making slanderous accusations like that...

I didn't say those Real or Juve sides were **** - I said they were less brilliant than Barca and that's exactly what they were.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
