    European Power Shift

Watching the Champs league tonight makes me we are not in it

I remember 5 years ago, English clubs would always be in the knock out stages and semi finals

However I think the power is shifting, and has been for a while. The EPL might generate the most revenue but its a flawed model for success

The EPL is ****ing crap this year and has been on the slide for the past few years IMO.

        Youth teams.

In Spain and Germany the young players can play for the B or C tems in lower leagues.

They don't need to spend fantasy money on a lot of players like the English teams must do.

They can pick talent after talent from their youth teams when they are ready after spending time in the B or C team.

The two best teams in Europe right now is probably Bayern and Barcelona. They also probably have the best youth teams in the world.

Hmm. I think you've contradicted yourself somewhat. Generating the most revenues is the aim of the PL and it is proving still to be a very good model for success. Its probably only fans that consider EPL victory as the primary measure of a successful season. And who cares what they think.

Sort of, although the PL is the second most profitable European league behind the Bundesliga.

it's more even that it has been, there are a number of clubs this year that have a real chance to win it(bayern, barca, milan, real, dortmund, juve) which has not been the case in recent seasons..the power has shifted back to juve, milan, bayern and real (barca have been in it for the last 8 years), but it will shift back to english clubs in a few years..that's how it goes. hope we're in the mix by that time.
