Why shouldn't Qatar host a tournament if they're prepared to pay for it? Can't see the problem at all, it's not their fault that they have no history within the game. I'd rather they concentrated on getting other teams to pop over to play in a meaningless exhibition than manufacture a league and poach the best talent.

A hoax? It can't be. I definitely heard Oliver Kay on the radio earlier describing how he has an excellent source for the story and lots of independent corroboration to back it up. He spent a day researching it and everything.

Haha that's a bit of a ridiculous thing to say. Besides another gulf country, Saudi Arabia, has a great deal more influence on the world, and it's arguable that said influence is not the most positive. Qatar is wealthy, but they probably don't deserve to be the most hated of all the Gulf countries.

I'm from the Gulf.. Saudis are seen different here because they don't show off their money and don't act like they can buy whatever is in front of them and anyone they see.. they are simpler.. I'm talking about the society generally rather than governments and businesses.. most of us hate the way Qatar acts.. new money
