I'm amazed the vote is so even, apparently they have just as much place as male officials

I think the point is it's not something inherent that women are unable to judge intent etcOriginally posted by rico1304I played in a game 2 weeks ago with a woman referee. It was a shambles. She was completely on top of all the admin (checking boots, jewellery, players registrations, even making sure we had an effing first aid box) but once the game started she was out of her depth.
She'd never played so couldn't interpret intent, blowing for stupid things and letting bad tackles go. In the end both captains agreed we'd ref it ourselves and told her when to blow. She then played 35 mins in the first half because she was used to junior football and let slip that she'd failed her FA exams on the off-side rule but had been allowed to start reffing. Would it have happened if she was a bloke?
It's because she specifically, could not do so. In that case she should not be refereeing. But if other women can judge intent then they should be able to ref. It's all about ability.Like blood on iron

If a woman could play football to the same level as their male equivalent should the be allowed to sign for pro-teams, and mix it up on the pitch?Originally posted by Red_PoloI think the point is it's not something inherent that women are unable to judge intent etc

I’ve not seen many, but the ones I have have been beyond inept.Originally posted by OberonIf a woman is good enough then why not?
I do disagree with quotas and such like though.
Ability to do a job and performance in it should be the only deciding factors! Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

But aren't almost all referees beyond inept?Originally posted by ShaggyAlonsoI’ve not seen many, but the ones I have have been beyond inept..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Yes they are. There’s not really much else I can say to that, is there?!

Women know **** all about football, but to be fair, neither do the male referees. SO, I say, if they are fit, AND have big tits, then yes, im all for itOriginally posted by ShaggyAlonsoIn light of Mike Newell’s “interesting” comments on women officials in football, what do YOU think?
I don’t consider myself sexist at all, but I also don’t think women should be officiating in men’s football. Women’s football? Fine, but the men’s game is virtually a different sport. IMO it’s like having a cricket umpire in the chair for the men’s singles final at Wimbledon. Different sports.
