Dave Jones:
Why not just tell us the second bit?The second goalless draw in 42 meetings between them. The last was 40 meetings ago.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

I hope that Rodgers can get our players to work as hard as the Everton players do week in week out.
They have a better team mentality than us. Always give 100% out there. We have a better squad but not the team mentality to finish above them.Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a

Exactly, Everton have proved all season that despite having a weaker squad than us, they have been consistently better than us & therefore dare I say they have a better manager than us?!
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

Rodgers have been our manager almost a year so you would think that our team mentality would be top class by now but it isn't.Originally posted by Muddled View PostIf after eleven years, Rodgers has us playing with consistency, will you all be happy?
David Moyes has had 11 years at Everton and won **** all. Rodgers has had 1 year. *ONE* year.
I can take a loss as long as every player on the pitch give 100%. That is the most important point IMO. That the manager can get every player giving 100% in every game.
It don't take a year to change the mentality of a squad if you are a good manager. It simply don't.
Tactics mean almost nothing if you can't get the players working their socks off.Stop the cyberhate

Thank u! I do not & did not expect at the beginning of the season that ANY manager would make us challenge for the title, but the fact remains we are 30 odd points behind a very average Manure side. Rodgers has done nothing to suggest next season is going to be any different imo. Benitez & even Roy Evans had an instant impact on the team, whereas with Rodgers I'm beginning to think we may as well have given Kenny another season...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

No you wouldn't. Well, you obviously would, but I think it's a ridiculous thing to believe.Originally posted by Arn View PostRodgers have been our manager almost a year so you would think that our team mentality would be top class by now but it isn't.

Maybe them having a smaller squad than us helps them pull together, but it hasn't happened over night there either.

I am a massive Benitez fan but his first season we finished behind Everton in 5th, worse than the season before. Yes we won the CL but we're talking league form here so how exactly is that an instant impact?Originally posted by Nick77 View Post

I'm sure there was something. What was it..? Got it! The signing of Josemi. Er, no, it couldn't have been that. Oh - The Carling Cup Final. No. We lost that. ****. What on earth could it be? Maybe it was the winnning the Champions League that season? Was that the impact?Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostI am a massive Benitez fan but his first season we finished behind Everton in 5th, worse than the season before. You do know that Rafa rotated the squad to get best out of them in the CL the last few months the 2004-05 season? I don't have a clue how many points that cost us but we played with a weakened XI in a few games.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostI am a massive Benitez fan but his first season we finished behind Everton in 5th, worse than the season before. CL...priority one. League.....priority two.
We won the CL because of that. If we had won the EL and Rodgers rotated the squad in the same way then you can compare Rafa's first season with this one.
Rodgers also have the big advantage thanks to Rafa that our youth system is now top class.
You only need to ask Didi how big impact Rafa had straight away. The impact was massive. He totally changed the team mentality. From a losing to a winning one. The players believed that they could win whoever we played against, home or away.Stop the cyberhate
