It used to be the case that only the people in the match day squad for the final got a medal didn't it or at least that there were a certain number? I remember in 2005 discussion of people like Neil Mellor not getting one, when he contributed to us getting through the group stages. Has this rule changed now?

Paul Hirst @hirstclass
Every #CFC player I spoke to last night had nothing but praise for Benitez and how he has dealt with the challenges at the club.Paul Hirst @hirstclass
David Luiz said Benitez's half-time team talk had inspired the team to victory, Azpilicueta said he had taught him a lot during last 6monthsRafa's half-time team talksPaul Hirst @hirstclass
Paulo Ferreira is unhappy at the way some #CFC fans have treated Benitez.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I don't know who it was that picked up the medals but I heard that the likes of Mellor and Pongolle got discarded runners up medals. I also heard that there was going to be an appeal made to UEFA about it but I don't remember what happened in the end.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostYeah, because the story went that Pellegrini went and picked up the discarded AC Milan runner up medals and gave them out to Mellor, Pongolle et al, didn't it?The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
