But wanting to come to Liverpool and wanting to go to Dortmund at the same time isn't contradictory if the actual motive is to leave Shakhtar/Russia and have a payday move. I want to live in Vancouver and I want to live in Singapore, I just don't really want to live in Sheffield. If someone asks if I want to live in Vancouver, the answer is yes. If someone asks if I want to live in Singapore, the answer is also yes.

I really don't think trying to join the ****ty dots created by desperate journalists to create a coherent picture is worth while or possible.

Leaving aside the journos and going off what his club said,my point was they made 2 bids,had 1 accepted,we didn't,he joined them.Maybe it really is that simple.

P.s as these deals seem to get done by negotiation rather than bids being stuffed in an envelope and posted I don't think the idea of bidding and not bidding really makes sense. Agreements are made or not between the parties.

The Echo saying that Dortmund agreed a £20.5 million deal - but we couldn't agree one. I thought though that we were prepared to go to £25 million and HM wanted to come here? Just doesn't add up to me.

I may be wrong but this does seem to me to have the feeling of the club being over confident about getting him and we've dropped a bollock here.

Yeah like we have been doing. And they've been doing presumably. Then they reach a deal and make a bid to make it formal. And yet their first one was still turned down.
