The new TV deal make a £50m net transfer budget realistic. That interest free loan was to get the club moving and cash flowing. It wont have a time limit on it, its just something they will take out of the club when they sell up. I thought that was pretty standard business practice.Originally posted by Arn View PostIMO the interest free loan will be paid back this summer. That is why we may not spend that big this summer.
IIRC the loan is €30m.*Except Michael, who died.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is poised according to reports to join Liverpool
The Armenian playmaker has been sounded for a move to Anfield in the past few weeks, as the Reds brace themselves for Luis Suarez's seemingly inevitable departure.
He has also been on Borussia Dortmund's radar, and has been made available for sale after he failed to report for pre-season training.
His manager Mircea Lucescu urged the 24-year-old to snub Liverpool, telling Ukranian publication Terrikon: ""I can understand the urge to leave if he has a chance to go to a club that surpasses Shakhtar, like Barcelona or Real Madrid, but not many clubs are beyond our level - not clubs like Liverpool or Tottenham."
But it seems Liverpool have made a significant breakthrough, with a report in Russian paper Sport Express saying Liverpool will make an official statement in the next few days.

They also note he will fly to Liverpool to undergo a medical and join up with his new team-mates.
Meanwhile, Kolo Toure formally signed a two-year contract at Melwood training ground earlier today.

initially there were reports that the club didnt even own him, and his contract was owned by the agent and/or others.
what a mess. will we ever get this untangled.
now reports that the deal is being done with the club. probably just bollocks.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I do wonder if Artur means Reina rather than Suarez when he says that you have to 'sell something big'. After all Reina is vice captain and by all accounts a massive presence in the dressing room. And according to Bascombe, interest from Barca has cooled. Maybe the 'something big' does not mean the size of the fee - but £10 mill would be almost half of the cash needed for Henry M.

Goal.com's take on it.
The Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder has offers on the table from both clubs and will make his final decision on where to move in the coming days, with the German club the favourites
By Wayne Veysey | Chief Correspondent
Borussia Dortmund are confident of beating Liverpool to the signature of Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Goal understands.
The Champions League runners-up have made a concerted push for the Armenia international and have joined the Merseysiders in activating his £19 million release clause.
Both clubs have made contract offers to Mkhitaryan, whose move is being brokered by super agent Mino Raiola.
It is believed that the 24-year-old is now edging towards choosing Dortmund ahead of Liverpool, with his final destination expected to be confirmed in the next few days.
Tottenham have also registered their interest in the versatile midfielder but are regarded as outsiders in the three-way fight for the player's signature.
Liverpool had lined up Mkhitaryan as a priority signing even before Luis Suarez began pushing for a summer move, with the three-time Armenia player of the year regarded as the most eye-catching target in a summer rebuilding programme that has already included the signings of goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, defender Kolo Toure, attacking midfielder Luis Alberto and forward Iago Aspas.
But the deal has been a complicated one to complete for the Merseysiders because of legal issues concerning Mkhitaryan’s ownership and the timing of his transfer fee payments, with Shakhtar keen for a single lump sum up front.
Mkhitaryan has failed to attend training in recent days, with Shakhtar chief executive Sergei Palkin admitting he does not know his star man's whereabouts.
Dortmund have money to spend after selling Mario Gotze to Bayern Munich for £31.5m and Palkin has admitted the German club have bid for his team's prize asset.
Jurgen Klopp's side are also on the verge of signing St Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with sporting director Michael Zorc admitting on Tuesday that they are "very close" to finalising a deal.
Robert Lewandowski has been told he will not be allowed to leave for Bayern this summer, and BVB remain keen to strengthen a side that finished 25 points behind the Bavarians last season.
Mkhitaryan scored a Ukranian Premier League record 25 goals last season despite operating from an attacking midfield berth, while Aubameyang netted 19 times in Ligue 1.
