Maybe the only signing if Luis left rumors where true.

Which means that our number 7 could have give the confirmation.

I'd love Gundogan. He plays a bit deeper though.

        I fail to see why.

Can we all agree that transfers are a notoriously long and complicated process? I've read posters say Ayre is to blame; it's not as if he's sat in the office emailing a transfer bid going up in increments of a pound for the last month.

As for the press, it's not as if the journalists have lied, they've reported what has been fed to them by Liverpool, Shaktar and Mkhitaryan's agent with each titbit being for the benefit of themselves. Hell, I reckon some Twitter *ITK* got it right, it's just that sometimes what is reported or leaked is right at that time - things change.

I think it's clear to see that we've identified Mkhitaryan as a player we wanted to sign. Articles have been leaked to the media by various bodies to assist their side of the bargain. A number of teams have been involved in this process and at the conclusion of these negotiations, Mkhitaryan has chosen the club he wants to play for.

It's not Ayre's fault, we can't blame FSG, we can't subscribe to the theories Arn parps, it's just football. We've taken a risk going all out for a player that has simply said 'no'. This now means our next target for this position will clearly know they're a back-up plan. That risk nearly paid off, but what the hell, as people have said - I'd never heard the name a month a go.

        Let silly season continue.

Agreed - we were clearly in for him big time but he's chosen to go somewhere else where he will challenge for titles and play in the CL. It's not rocket surgery.

Dortmund are a more attractive option at the moment so I can't blame him for joining them and a lot of other players would probably do the same.

As Muddled say's things change, situations develop, goalposts are moved negotiations breakdown this happens all the time in life let alone football.

Re assess and move onto the next target, still plenty of time to get more quality in.

and how can we change that without CL football? The answer is money. Offer the player massive wages. Would we got HM if we offered him £200k a week in wages? IMO yes.

If you don't agree with me then mention any other alternative.

You're assuming his motivation to play. Some players prefer challenging for top honours over even more money than they know what to do with.

                    Walk away from the deal.

If the third party ownership is true then it wouldn't be up to him who he moves to.

I believe that he had us as his number choice but not much he can do about it.

That means that money talks. He moves to the club his owners want him to join. Offer the player massive wages and it is a big chance that his agent will put pressure on the owners to sell him to us.

I actually agree with Arn, money is a huge factor, why would players have joined Man City, Chelsea, PSG, Monaco and going back the likes of Blackburn or the rich Russian teams?

At this point as we can't offer players CL or a realistic chance at a Championship then we've got to offer something else.

HOWEVER we'd make a rod for our backs and all future signings/agents would want in on the gravy team.

Mkhitaryan looked an exciting player, we missed out on him (and he missed out on us) -never mind lets move on to another target.
                        We come not to play.

Just hope we have some very good alternatives for him and papa lined up as yet again we seem to have missed out on our main targets which will be a big blow to Rodgers planning Imo. Our biggest issue was not getting the deal done early which could have been for a number of reasons and there is no point speculating on that. The longer a deal drags out the more chance of a CL club coming in and high jacking the deal. We are still suffering from the mismanagement of the club under Moores and h&g. It is going to take a while for the club to get back where it belongs. The biggest issue for the club is the stadium as that should have been sorted over 10 years ago.

From what I've read on Twitter yesterday, De Boer has come out to say that we've been looking at Eriksen (? - what's the correct bloody spelling for his name?).
                            Are we winning?

The Danish lad isn't coming off the back of a 20 goal season though, does he even have it in his locker?
