Saw the Bundesliga table earlier and noticed Dortmund are 4th and don't have a great points tally.
Mkhitaryan seemed to start really well - had some class games in the CL and looked particularly great against Arsenal - but he looks to have gone right off the boil. 3 league goals this season in 15 games. Not great for around £25m.
Doesn't mean he's **** though obviously. Just might not be the right move. I'd love us to go back in for him in the summer...get him for a lower price...about £18m maybe.
Rodgers said he wanted to add about 20 goals a season to the squad and while Suarez is doing a grand job of adding them all himself, it's clear we need more goalscorers in the squad, particularly from midfield.
Mkhitaryan: I have not been good enough for Dortmund
The midfielder has struggled to live up to the high expectations at BVB so far, but is determined to improve after the winter break
Henrikh Mkhitaryan has admitted that he has yet to replicate the form that earned him a transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk to Borussia Dortmund as he feels he has not been good enough in the first half of the season.
The attacking midfielder, 24, joined BVB in a deal worth €27.5 million, but has netted just three goals in 15 Bundesliga appearances so far after scoring an impressive 25 league goals for the Ukrainian champions last term.
"I think that I have not yet shown what I can do since I moved to Borussia Dortmund. I still have room for improvement," the Armenia international told Kicker.
"The positive thing for me is that I got plenty of chances and created some myself, too. I simply did not do enough with them, though.
"But I am confident that I will do better after the winter break than in the first half of the season. I am very critical of myself and I know that I can do better."
Dortmund resume Bundesliga action at home against Augsburg on January 25. Jurgen Klopp's men currently sit fourth in the table with 32 points from 17 games. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
