To you Aussies/a-league fans out there here is a bloody random circumstance....

Sergio can dijk is currently playing for the Indonesian national team in a friendly vs a holland team led by rvp sneijder and lens with players like robben on the bench.
How do these teams even come together let alone with a Dutch born Western European background person playing for Indonesia vs his home national team!

Here's a great example of players influencing a ref - Higuain getting sent off for Argentina.

Wigan Athletic hope to have Roberto Martínez's successor in place by the end of the next week with the candidates including two key members of Sir Alex Ferguson's old coaching staff at Manchester United. Mike Phelan, United's former assistant manager, and René Meulensteen, their first-team coach, are among those scheduled to be interviewed for the manager's job when Dave Whelan, Wigan's owner, returns from holiday this weekend.

Meulensteen is tipped to leave Old Trafford in the coming weeks as David Moyes reorganises the coaching staff but has recently been the subject of considerable praise from Ferguson.

Other contenders possibly on Whelan's shortlist as he prepares for life in the Championship include Brighton's Gus Poyet, Charlton's Chris Powell, the MK Dons manager Karl Robinson as well as Steve McClaren and Owen Coyle.

"I don't want to mess about too long," said Whelan who once broke his leg in a FA Cup Final. "Interviews will start Sunday or Monday and I expect it to take four or five days."

That rug really tied the room together.

I can't imagine how Dave Whelan can interview anyone, he loves the sound of his own voice so much I can't imagine the person he is interviewing would be able to get a word in.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Got tickets to next weeks Australia vs Iraq WCQ in Sydney.
Could only get tickets in the Iraqi section. If we win next Tuesday we qualify. Bring on Iraq!!

Ooh, pretty much a local derby. I bet Iraq will be bringing tens of thousands.
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I thought we qualified by beating Jordan today?

Javier Mascherano doing what he does best, getting sent off for something we haven’t seen before, kicking out at the driver of the cart that carries off injured players from the field of play. Always thinking of new ways to get an early bath is Javier. By the by it finished 1-1 between Argentina and Ecuador.

That rug really tied the room together.

Uruguay 1-0 up from a good cavani goal coming in from the right scoring to the far post with his left.

                              Anyone watching this?

Sorry if that came across as sarcy towards you. It was a comment on the insanity of the geographical scale of the Asian football confederation.

Out of interest how many supporters did Jordan have? Double figures?
