Think he was the one who initially injured him when Bolton played the Mancs. Holden made a long recovery and now this latest recurrence it seems.

Clashed knees on a 50-50 ball in this match. Was walking with no help or crutches for the trophy ceremony and they said a knee sprain, which I hope is true. I think he was worried; he had done his knee AGAIN during his rehab after a year of work after Evans' tackle, so this comeback is the result of two years of rehab and two injuries instead of the usual one year.

Looked decent in the tournament, needs to get game time as his touch is not back yet, but the vision is good and he was moving fine until this. Hope he's better soon and finds time with Bolton this season.

          it's two things

          1) he's a **** house, he is clearly scared of tackling so he goes in in a bad way
          2) as a result he's technique is always the same - instead of sliding in on your side, with one leg in a natural way, he goes in straight up on his back if that makes sense, best way to picture it is like he is going down a slide - plus two footed with both legs straight and studs up. i've seen him do it so many ****ing times it's untrue and he's got away with it
          Makes sense to me.

Seriously though the slide analogy works well imo, because it also conveys a sense of being out of control once committed.

Horrible liitle **** he is imo, hate players that consistently do this sort of thing only to get away with it.

Not sure he would without Fergie though.

So every knock going forwards is Evans fault? He's a cunt so fair enough.

                              **** off Lawro!

Mark Lawrenson given 'reduced role' on Match of the Day as BBC shake up flagship football programme

Mark Lawrenson has been axed as a Match of the Day regular in a shake-up of the BBC's flagship football programme.

                              By Ben Rumsby

                              1:15PM BST 01 Aug 2013

The corporation admitted Lawrenson would have a "reduced role" on the 4 million-rated programme from next season after announcing its plans to breathe new life into the programme.

It appeared the 56 year-old had lost his job as a BBC pundit and co-commentator altogether after no mention was made of the former Liverpool defender in a press release announcing its sports line-up across all platforms and programmes for the new season.

But a spokeswoman told Telegraph Sport Lawrenson would definitely appear on Match of the Day, albeit less often.

She also said Alan Hansen and Alan Shearer would continue as mainstays following speculation all three had been facing the chop as a result of criticism of the show's current format.

Lawrenson's name did appear on a separate announcement for Match of the Day 2 and BBC's Radio Five Live football coverage but his omission from the Match of the Day release was an embarrassing oversight and one the corporation quickly rectified when it was pointed out.

The revised version made it clear that Hansen and Shearer remain lead pundits, with Lawrenson's name added to a bumper roster of support acts, including Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, Les Ferdinand, Gus Poyet and Gianluca Vialli.

Robbie Savage will also form part of the rotation, while there is return for Peter Schmeichel more than seven years after he lost his job on Match of the Day after reportedly falling out with bosses over his long-winded style.

Shearer and savage should be ditched completely. Surely savage is just filling some welsh quota.
