Because they will have experienced playing a tournament in Brazils heat & humidity - it's effectively a trial run for the World Cup.

I have been very impressed with the quality of football of the Italian team under Caesar Prandelli. Reasonably attractive and tactically superb.

What was his reputation before the Italy job? How highly was he rated?
Hypothetically, if Brendan does not work out here would Prandelli be a viable candidate? Is he of that level?

Prandelli did very well at Fiorentina before getting the job.

Also I'll be honest I would have loved him to have got the job around the time Rafa went, I think there were a few rumours but nothing concrete as far as I'm aware.

Not convinced myself tbh. I preferred the way Japan played (who are also managed by an Italian IIRC).

Japan always play lovely football.. they just have no end product and are a bit scatty at the back.

I was quite surprised at how well Italy played.. classy football. Not even the big lumps at the back were hoofing it, fast paced sidemen & Pirlo pulling the strings in the middle. Personally i thought they were fantastic to watch they just ran out of steam.

IMO they would have had the game wrapped up if Ballotelli was in instead of Gillardino.

For some inexplicable reason the final is on Sunday at 11pm. On a school night FFS.
