What is the thinking behind this signing? He looks so 'kick and rush' it's untrue.
I'd rather minutes be given to Raheem and Ibe. I think the money for this purchase could be put to much greater use.

Got a feeling Rodgers desperately wants trophies as well as minimum of top 4. Needs to bulk the squad out to achieve that. He likes his pacy types, ala Dyer, but doesn't want to spend big like on an Ince type fee. Assaidi probably doesn't have the attitude to go with the pace.

I think one of the reasons for not spending big is; If you spend big, it normally means big wages as well. The wage bill is something that has runaway uncontrollably in the last few years and now is being reigned in

i wonder if ince has better control/end result than this lad. reckon ince will be a better goal threat. this lad just looks like a sprinter with a ball tied to his leg with three yards of rope.

i wonder if all this speculation is to make ince realise he might get passed on if the fee isnt sensible.

Nope...I think our interest in Ince ended months ago.

yeh, reckon so, but i still reckon that maybe we are passing over on a decent player, maybe the grief from him/dad has left a sour taste.

I feel the same. If his first touch isn't red hot he'll not make it in the Prem. pace alone = Babel or Gonzalez or Cisse. Surely we've learnt by those mistakes.

fair point. Although there must be something the scouts and Rogers are seeing in this lad that is different than what we already have & worth the money.... i hope

"For anyone to dribble, the first touch has to be perfect. I think that is my biggest quality."

Not many who have seen him in action would disagree with that self-assessment.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Because we're all scouts in disguise. Except Neil who's a dog in disguise.

Shhh. How do you really think the NSA gets its information?

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Porto have left out Christian Atsu from their provisional squad for the 2013/14 season giving credence to the believe that the Portuguese champions are ready to sell him.

The 21-year-old Ghana winger has refused to extend his existing deal which expires at the end of the upcoming season.

Atsu has been linked to a move to the English Premier League with giants Liverpool and Tottenham the most talked of.

Porto have however failed to reach a deal to sell the Ghana international who was left out of the team’s pre-season tour of Holland, Venezuela and Colombia.

The Portuguese champions have now revealed the greatest hint of their preparedness to cash in on the flying winger by excluding him from the team’s provisional squad for the new season.

The team of players were presented to the club fans at the Dragao over the weekend with Atsu and another potential departee; Rolando conspicuously missing.

None of the players were however spotting Atsu’s no.27 jersey – meaning the player’s exit remains in doubt.

Porto are believed to be holding out for the best possible deal for the Ghanaian considered to be one of the bright football prospects.

They remain in negotiations with interested clubs and are believed to wait until transfer deadline day to sell Atsu if they are unable to talk him into signing a new deal.

                                LATEST TRANSFER GOSSIP

Tottenham have reignited their interest in Porto winger Christian Atsu, reports Sky Sports.

Atsu's future at Porto has been the subject of intense speculation with the Ghana international refusing to sign a new deal at the Estadio do Dragao.

It is reported the Portuguese side are now thought to be ready to sell the 21-year-old rather than see him run down his contract and leave on a free transfer next summer.
