Wigans football, in this first few minutes anyway, seems to have thrown Martinez' pass and move stuff out the window. Playing a lot of long balls.

Cracking header? no one marked him and the keeper had sun in his eyes.

Smalling looked like he *really* wanted to listen to Neville then.

Watched 30 seconds of this. What a totally turgid state of affairs. You lot should bung the cricket on. Edge of the seat stuff.
              *Except Michael, who died.

Awful game. Utd don't look anything special, which gives me hope that the Moyes Effect is starting to kick in.

Yep - Long ball after long ball.

There's been several occasions where Maloney has broken through the middle and looked around for a pass and there wasn't one on. Coyle has them all behind the ball and they're just looking to punt it for Fortune to chase and before that Holt to win a header.

                          Hodgsonesque.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
